Women Leaders

We empower you to integrate your life & work to make your biggest contribution without burning out.

Women make great leaders. Yet despite our gains, the day-to-day stresses of leading and juggling continue to lead to frustration, exhaustion, and even burnout.

Why?

Traditional, off-the-shelf leadership programs fail to address deeper, underlying concerns that all women in the workplace face: the struggle to find that elusive work-life balance, a persistent lack of confidence and self-doubt held in place by worn-out structures holding women back, and  pervasive lack of authority in decision-making.

The result? Women are reporting greater stress at work in ‘always on’ work environments, where burnout is on the rise, taking its toll.

The question of ‘What do I need to be successful in this environment?,’ becomes key to creating your future.

When I dare to be powerful, to use my strength in the service of my vision,  it becomes less and less important whether I am afraid.

What do I need to be successful?

This key question is asked by women across all industries and organizations from education to the corporate world, from health care to law to the environment,  not to mention at home. And, likely by you too.

As women we view successful leaders as those who share their knowledge and experience, and value connecting with their colleagues to help the team and the business. The notion of ‘we’re in this together,’ actually makes us stronger, and more-effective.

Yet even with a growing number of companies increasing value by including women in leadership roles, women continue to be underrepresented at every level.

So what do we know about what’s actually needed to be a woman and to be successful?

We know a lot.

For the past 20+ years we’ve known that women’s contributions to leadership are varied and powerful, despite being often seen as simply ‘soft skills.’ Women . . .

  • Bring a wide-angle focus on the larger landscape, impacting strategy
  • Naturally lead from the center, literally sitting among their people
  • Value authenticity and empathy, while handling crises with skill
  • Exhibit a positive bias for direct communication with colleagues
  • Find motivation in challenges
  • Value the primacy on relationships in all their diversity, with collaboration and teamwork cascading through their organizations
  • Prefer to integrate their personal and professional lives vs. compartmentalizing them.

It’s been extraordinary to watch how the distinctions I studied and wrote about in women’s leadership over twenty years ago, have become mainstream leadership skills. They’re no longer viewed as soft skills. They’re viewed as leadership skills.

How We Help

Our programs teach women pragmatic leadership skills and resilience-building practices which are put to use each and every day.  Women grow their personal confidence through spotlighting, then transforming, old self-defeating tendencies and habits. No more blind spots to trip them up!

Women who work with us report improved energy, greater capacity to stand in their power, set boundaries (while still connecting with others), and take empowered action toward what’s important. In short, these women experience a new freedom i their leadership and their life.

Who

Q4’s programs are for those women who are committed to stretching in their leadership and their life. They dream big and want to act from what they care about, while holding themselves and other accountable. They want to speak their vision with a compelling sense of presence so others will want to join in. They own their outcomes and ‘know’ that leading involves developing personal resilience and supporting it in their relationships.

How

Holistic embodied learning is foundational to our programs. We support women to tap the wisdom of their bodies, their intuition, their hearts and minds in order to lead in a sustainable ways. We partner with individual women themselves, and a whole host of others committed to women’s development: founders, executives, learning officers, talent managers and women’s forums within organizations to stay the stress, increase resilience and narrow the leadership gap.

When

When you’re ready. No more trade-offs between self-care and creative, hands-on progress.

  • When you or your organization suffers from leadership burn-out including a loss of top female talent.
  • When you notice your female talent hanging back, not yet stepping into the courage required to up their game.
  • When you’re motivated to increase creativity and collaboration in your organization.

Women make great leaders because they have an innate ability to dream big, challenge assumptions and inspire teams — and they know how to translate big ideas into concrete action and results.

Chris helped me to see deeper into myself than I could see on my own. She coaches from a holistic point of view encompassing all aspects of a person, work life and personal life. While many coaches seem to think that the business and personal issues are separate, Chris is qualified to do both.

She helped me to “crack the shell” of my life, which has opened up new avenues for me. I knew I had to make some changes and she prepared me to face them head on.

Chris is a ‘full service coach,’ and  put herself in my shoes to help me clarify what I was moving toward, where I was stuck, and how I could to shift into forward progress. She isn’t constrained by the pretenses of her profession.

Chris is incredibly flexible and responsive, yet has challenged me to stand in my power and build my capacity as a professional. She has a huge range of influence, addressing the emotional and energetic, but she’s also practical about business strategies. I needed that ‘full service’ as I clarified my vision and found my strength. I have come to rely on her quiet, wise guidance.

Having Dr. Chris to bounce off ideas and solutions has been great for gaining clarity and building work relationships in my new role. I’ve  learned that resolving issues isn’t always about the work, but more about the need to keep the lines of communication. Her suggestions and coaching feedback provided clarity and opened  up win-win opportunities for everyone.
