I grew up out in the country and I always loved the long winding walk down the driveway to meet the bus for that first day of school each year.
There was something about the crisp fall air, freshly sharpened pencils, and squeaky new shoes that filled me with the possibility of a fresh start.

Me and my sister, Shawna, off to school. |
I still love back-to-school time. I can’t believe it’s already upon us! Summer has flown by revealing the fruit of this year’s learning for me and Q4 Consulting.
2018 has been a year of LEAPING.
Let me explain.
Each year, for the past five or six years, I’ve been selecting a Word of the Year to serve as a guidepost for how best to develop the offers at Q4 Consulting and the amazing work I’m privileged to do.
The Word of the Year practice has proven enormously helpful in guiding my choices, making decisions, and actively choosing new business opportunities that fit with our purpose which, of course, includes setting boundaries and saying no to what no longer fits.
- jump or spring a long way, to a great height, or with great force.
- make a sudden rush to do something; act eagerly and suddenly.
“it was time for me to leap into action” - accept (an opportunity) eagerly.
“they leapt at the opportunity to combine fun with fund-raising”
If you’re reading this newsletter, then you likely know of my commitment to walking a mindful path in life and work. What would that look like from a LEAPING perspective?
- taking greater risks, experimenting with new offers, embracing mistakes
- being willing to be uncomfortable for the sake of something new to emerge
- stepping off whatever edge we’ve lived on so far to see what else might be possible.
As a result, you may have noticed over this past year that you’ve received more communications from me.For some of you, it may have been a bit frustrating since our inboxes can get so jammed. For others of you, it may have proved intriguing and sparked your curiosity about what Q4 Consulting is up to.
Life itself is the best school for learning
I’ve been LEAPING into more and more of what my heart longs for: healing of ourselves, our conversations, our relationships, our businesses, and our beautiful earth.
- Committing anew to the power of women to lead.
- Committing anew to being a stand for conscious leadership, healthy workplaces, and engaged communities.
- Committing anew to doing business in the world from a place of abundance and generosity vs. greed and lack.
And, it all starts with conversations.
Conversations where we listen more than we talk, where we’re paying attention for possibilities to open, and for the next right action to appear. Core conversations that make a difference in our daily lives.
To that end, and in the spirit of back-to-school, I wanted to share what’s been going on with me so you will know how fully committed I am to supporting you and your concerns as well.
In fact, my commitment has only deepened. So much so, that it became crystal clear to me that it was time for me to LEAP more boldly into life and what this next stage of my own learning would bring.
In the months ahead, you’ll hear more from me in ways that bring perspective to the things that matter most and solutions to challenges you face as you LEAP in your own life.
The first week of each month I’ll be sending out a blog post. This will allow me to take a deeper dive into the topics that will help you learn and grow as you build your own resilience.
The third week of the month you’ll find a pragmatic practice that you can put to use right away. This will often be a video so you can be cued and guided by me for better results.
You’ll also receive periodic, valuable resources and offers (my own and others) to share within your network and circles. These will always be offers of the highest value.
Additionally, I’ll be updating the Resources section of the website with new articles, videos, and practices that you can use and freely share.
It starts here with a New FREE download
